What is spirituality?

When people embark on their spiritual journey, the main thing they probably ask themselves is, what is spirituality?

Spirituality is so unique to the individual that the answer will be different every time. But for a general answer, spirituality is a sense of connection to something that is higher/ greater then ones self.

People start this journey for many reasons, at all stages in life, there is no right or wrong time to start your journey as when you do choose to, it is the exact right time for you. The different reasons people might start looking into spirituality may be for comfort, guidance, a self of belonging, healing, growth etc.

Spirituality is such a unique journey, it is all about finding what resonates with you as a person regardless of religion, traditions or external rules. As it is about feeling or finding that connection higher then ones self this can include god or the divine, the universe, nature or humanity as a whole.

You may find yourself asking, why am I here? What is the purpose of life? And this is where your journey will begin, delving into all the aspects out there to find these answers, to find a deeper understanding to life itself.

Spirituality is all about living in the here and now, living in the moment, and knowing what is going on in your life is happening for a reason and that reason is going to lead you to better things. To be able to get through the hard times with compassion, love and kindness, knowing that they will not last forever.

Spirituality is a deeply personal journey, trust your intuition, follow what resonates with you, be patient and gentle with yourself on this journey as it isn’t a race or about achieving something but about opening yourself up to growth and change, allowing things to happen naturally and trust that your journey will evolve at its own pace.
